Rev. Kim Dorr-Tilley ::
Pastor to the Entertainment Industry

Rev. Kim Dorr-Tilley oversees The Beacon, Bel Air's ministry to those working in the entertainment industry. She and many other Christians working in showbiz consider Hollywood to be an incredible mission field which contains within it the ability to transform culture. Facilitating these conversations which increase the awareness Hollywood's influence is a huge passion of Kim's. The website,, was launched to inspire and equip Christians in all aspects of entertainment and media and to nurture and facilitate a safe environment for working professionals to know one another spiritually and vocationally. This vision, begun in Hollywood, is already taking root internationally, in other hubs of production, where Christians face similar challenges to their faith and ability to persevere in this industry.

Kim also works in the entertainment industry as the co-owner of Defining Artists Agency . She has worked in entertainment, specifically with on-camera talent, for over 30 years. She developed and ran the Casting Department of The Arthur Company, an independent television production company, for nine years. She cast many hours of comedy and drama for cable, syndicated, and prime time programming while also finding and developing talent for the company. She jumped across the desk in 1993, becoming a talent agent at the Bobby Ball Agency where she headed up the Children's and Young Adult TV/ Film Division and started the Adult Theatrical Department. In 2002, Defining Artists, an Adult Theatrical Boutique Agency, was born out of the Adult Theatrical Department of BBA. In 2005, Kim took over ownership of Defining Artists with her business partner.

Meanwhile, back at Bel Air, Kim also supervises the Prayer Ministry. Believing that God intends each and every church to be a "House of Prayer," Kim is passionate in seeing everyone grow in their reliance on prayer.

Kim received her first call to ministry at Bel Air Presbyterian in September of 2005. (She started attending Bel Air in 1993 after coming to faith in Jesus, making Bel Air her first and only church home.) She is a graduate of Fuller Seminary having earned her M. Div in 2002. Her favorite class was on the life and ministry of Dietrich Bonhoeffer (ask her to tell you about him if you don't know his story!).

Kim holds a BA in Theatre from the University of Denver and was in the first class at the National Theatre Conservatory housed at the Denver Center Theatre Company. A Colorado native, she is a die-hard Bronco fan. She loves the Rocky Mountains and will forever think of that beautiful state as "home". Kim married her sweetheart, Bob Tilley, in November of 2009.
