Our Church Leadership All people have equal value and potential in God’s eyes. That's why God calls on all of us to serve His church. The leadership of Bel Air Presbyterian Church is built upon the Presbyterian form of government, but more importantly we're just a bunch of people who love the Lord and feel called and gifted to do what we do. We invite you to get to know us personally. Stop by and introduce yourself. Become part of the leadership of Bel Air.

Pastors and Staff :: We hire pastors and staff primarily to facilitate ministry by those who comprise the congregation. If we had no staff, we would still have a church. The congregation relies on pastors and staff to: plan and execute worship services, identify, recruit, mentor, and support lay leadership for the church, help the lay leadership design and implement our discipleship, evangelism and fellowship programs, manage the day-to-day business affairs of the church. Ministers of the Word and Sacrament have the special responsibility of proclaiming the Word of God through preaching, teaching and
administering the sacraments.

Pastors :: You've heard from them on Sundays, in your classes, and maybe even at special events. But do you really know them? Get to know them here then introduce yourself the next time you see them.
|

Staff :: You've seen their names a million times. Here's your chance to learn what their favorite food is so you can ask them out to lunch! (Oh, and you can read a little more about their backgrounds and who they really are, too.)
|

Elders :: Did you think the pastor and staff actually ran this place? The true leaders of the church are members of the church, just like you, who spend their days as business men or women, stay-at-home parents, doctors, actors (well, at least aspiring), and more!
|

Deacons :: The deacons of Bel Air Presbyterian Church attempt to fulfill that privilege through a variety of ways and means. Our Deacons' goal is to
facilitate a family quality among our widely dispersed congregation
through a ministry of sympathy, witness, and care-giving. They pray for the needs of the congregation, help in times of financial difficulty, reach out to the community, and build community within their neighborhoods.
|
Lay Leaders :: It is better to leave
leadership positions vacant than to fill them with disciples who lack
leadership gifts or abilities. The congregation should hold leaders —
and leaders should hold themselves — to a higher standard of life
transformation, morality, and biblical priorities. We believe leaders
should be involved in mentoring other leaders. |
Individual Members :: Bel Air has members to distinguish the core of the BAPC family from others. While regular, casual, and even one-time visitors to our worship services are part of our family, only members can serve in leadership roles. Our members have special claim on BAPC's finite resources, and they have special obligations to contribute to its ministry.
