"Praise the name of the Lord in the courts of the house of our God." (Psalm 135)
The band leads worship at the contemporary services (Sundays: 11 a.m., & 5 p.m.) and has an innovative and unique worship style, outside of the boundaries of common "worship" music. The music is simultaneously innovative and sonically pleasing, and the message is clear. It's not about us. Influences on the Bel Air worship band style include David Crowder, Hillsong United, Chris Tomlin, and even the Beatles. For more information or to serve at one of the contemporary worship services, contact Kendall Payne.
The Bel Air Worship Choir participates in the 8:30 a.m. Sunday service from September through June. On special occasions, the choir sings at other services, seasonal worship events, concerts and festivals. Singers have the option of rehearsing on Thursdays, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., OR on Sundays, from 10:15 a.m. to noon, OR both! Meets in the Music Suite (beneath the Sanctuary). Previous choral experience and sight-reading ability are beneficial, but the primary requirement is a desire to join others in excellent offerings of music to God in worship. In addition to the public music ministry of the choir, members find a sense of community, encouragement and prayer support. For more information, contact Dan Korneychuk.
The Bel Air Children’s Choir provides an opportunity for children, grades 2 through 5, to learn basic musical concepts, good vocal habits, teamwork and choral performance practice. Even more important, it helps children experience the worship of God through music and what it means to lead others in worship. The Fall season, September through December, culminates in Bel Air’s annual Christmas Concert. The Winter/Spring season, January through March, culminates on Palm Sunday, just before Easter. Rehearsals are on Sundays, from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Fall, 2017 rehearsals begin Sunday, September 17 in room C302. For more information, contact Nancy Ruczynski, Director.
Summer Choir helps to lead worship in the 8:30 a.m. Sunday service during the month of July. Though full participation throughout July is ideal, it isn’t mandatory. We would love to have you join us for as many Sundays as you can. Summer Choir is great for those who want to give choral worship leadership a try and for those who can only make a short-term commitment. To RSVP or for more information, email Dan Korneychuk.
Special Events Choir
Are you a singer who isn’t able or ready to commit to the Worship Choir or Summer Choir, but would love an opportunity to join your voice with others for special events or just for fun? Please let us know so we can contact you when these opportunities arise, and tell us if you have specific interests like: men’s choir, women’s choir, gospel choir, contemporary worship choir, outreach choir, city-wide choral festival or….you name it! To get in on the fun, email Dan Korneychuk.
If you are an active instrumentalist of any age, currently playing regularly, and are interested in exploring music ministry at Bel Air Church, please contact Elissa Metropoulos. We’ll want to learn what instrument(s) you play, what level you have achieved (intermediate, advanced, semi-pro, pro), and what your availability is. Opportunities for service in this area are based on ministry needs and availability of dedicated musicians.
The technical arts (tech arts) team supports worship services, special events, streaming, sermon videos, and all audio/video equipment across our campus. If you're interested in serving on this team, contact Kendall Payne.
