In 1956, Bel Air Presbyterian Church was founded as a mission church in an effort to serve a corner of Los Angeles virtually without churches, especially near the UCLA campus. In the years since then, the church has grown from a community of four dozen meeting in a school room to a congregation of over 2000 regular attenders traveling as far as 60 miles to attend services on a typical Sunday.

Bel Air Church’s members come from a rich variety of religious backgrounds, from almost every denomination. The church is a member of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and a full participant in denominational mission projects around the world.
