What to Expect at Bel Air Presbyterian
Looking for a church to call home
can be daunting. How do you find one thats right for
you? We at Bel Air want to help you feel as at home on your
first visit as on your fiftieth. We hope the information below
will make your first Sunday at Bel Air an experience you wont
forget, and that it helps you connect to others in Los Angeles.
Whats the difference between the
three services?
Our 9 a.m. service is traditional
complete with organ
& choir music, hymns, and a formal liturgy. The 11 a.m.,
our largest service, offers contemporary worship and the same
message as our 9 a.m. service. The 6 p.m. is similar to the
11 a.m., but on a more intimate levels. Candles fill the Sanctuary
and worship is extended during this unique worship experience.
Its a great way to end a day at the beach!
What can my kids expect?
"Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them, for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs?" (Matthew 19:14). Bel Air believes your children should be given a safe place to grow and learn. Children and students of all ages have a place to be Sunday mornings. Sunday School and nursery programs await your little ones during the 9 & 11 a.m. services, and your students can look forward to fun groups during the 9 a.m. service so they can participate in the 11 a.m. service. For location information for each age range check out the worship schedule page.
How will I not be lost in the crowd at
Bel Air?
Los Angeles can be a very lonely city. During services, we have greeters and ushers who will welcome you. We also take a few minutes during each service to get to know the person next to you.
Outside of Sunday mornings, one way to break through this loneliness to true community is to take part in one of our Small Groups. A Small Group is six to twelve people with a leader who is connected to Bel Air Presbyterian Church, who gather regularly to Study the Word, Worship the Lord, Care for Each Other, Love our Neighbors, and Relate as Friends. It is in these communities that we can build authentic, Christ-focused relationships.
And don’t worry! We have people to help you find the right group. Go to the Many Rooms web site to browse through the list of available groups, or contact Jen Hurst (x150) to receive help in finding the right community. It is our hope that you will be able to connect in an authentic, loving, Christ-focused small group soon.
