tuition and fees A tuition and fees schedule is printed separate from this handbook and is available for parents at any time. Please see the Preschool Office for a copy of our current fees. Bel Air Presbyterian Preschool will notify parents at least 30 days in advance before any tuition or fee rate change. Tuition is based on the actual costs of operating the school divided by the number of students enrolled. The budget is non-profit. Tuition may be paid for the whole year, in two equal semester payments or in 10 equal payments due on first day of each month. In all cases the first payment is due in June or upon enrollment. The first payment is non-refundable if a change in enrollment should occur. School Year Tuition Fees You may select one of the three different options to pay tuition: • Tuition paid yearlyJune 1 or upon enrollment • Tuition paid in two equal semester paymentsJune 1 and December 1 • Tuition paid in nine equal monthly paymentsJune 1, Sept. 1, Oct. 1, Nov. 1, Dec. 1, Jan. 1, Feb. 1, March 1, April 1, May 1 For your convenience and financial records, you will be sent a monthly statement indicating the tuition or fees payable to the Preschool. Summer Tuition Fees • March 15Registration Fee • April 15First Installment • May 15Second Installment • June 15Third Installment **Summer cancellations made before May 1 will receive a 50% refund. There is no refund for cancellations made after May 1. Application, Registration, NSF Fees, Late Payment & Late Pick-Up Fees • An application fee is required at the time of application and an annual registration fee is required at the time of enrollment or re-enrollment. These fees are not refundable. • A $25 fee is assessed each time a check is returned unpaid by the bank. Fees must be paid with a money order or cashier’s check if the bank refuses to honor the check. A second NSF check may require that future payments be made by cash, cashier’s check or money order only. A late fee of $10 may also be due if the tuition deadline is missed. • A late fee of $10 will be assessed after the 10th day of each month. Please increase your payment by $10 if you are paying after this date. Any account that is 30 days late will be subject to suspension of attendance until the account is paid in full. • Children need to be picked up from Preschool promptly at the following times (based on the program they are in): • 11:55 a.m.12:05 p.m. (Morning Program) • 2:55 p.m.3:05 p.m. (Afternoon Enrichment) In accordance with other preschools in our area, a late charge of $1 per minute will be assessed and billed at the end of each month for tardiness in excess of the above listed pick-up window. Children who are picked up late may be under supervision in another room while waiting for the authorized representative to pick-up (i.e., Preschool Office, Children’s Library or Play ground). Our staff will first attempt to contact parents, then an adult authorized to remove the child from the Preschool. Repeated late pick-up may result in a review of enrollment and possible exclusion from the Preschool program. We appreciate your cooperation and efforts regarding timely pick-up. Making A Payment Payments can be made by check (preferred) or online using a Visa or Mastercard through our web site. Please mail checks to 16100 Mulholland Drive Los Angeles, CA 90049 or drop off at the Preschool Office. Refund Policy No credit is given for regularly scheduled school holidays and vacation periods. No tuition credit is given for any of the days a child is absent due to illness or vacation. Application, registration, re-registration and tuition fees are non-refundable. Enrollment is for the entire school year or the balance of a school year. Due to the importance of scheduling each class and program, your days of attendance and enrollment will be reserved for you for the entire school year. If slots or additional programs have enrollment availability, it may be possible to increase attendance or participation, however, if a day or program is dropped, the original tuition commitment will remain the same throughout the school year. In order to accommodate certain unforeseen circumstances, it may be necessary for you to withdraw your child from our program entirely. If this should occur, we will require a 60-day written notice in order to terminate your yearly tuition commitment at the end of that 60-day period. The charge for Early Morning Drop-off is made on a daily basis depending on the number of mornings your child spends with us. However, for your convenience, you will be billed at the end of the month for each of these times. Child care options are explained under the general heading, “operating procedures.” We have limited scholarships available. Please request an application through the Preschool Office or the Director.
