communication
1. Parent Information Areas:
We will be intentional about communicating with you in our Parent Information Areas. These include a parent area in each classroom, our general parent information boards, and each child is given a personal file in which we will place information for you regarding events at our school and your child. If you read everything, you will be informed.
2. Ongoing Check-ins:
We value the ongoing communication between parents and teachers. It is beneficial to children for parents to explain to the staff about events occurring at home that may influence changes in a child’s behavior at school. Please feel free to call the school, stop in the office, send an email or ask for a minute to talk with your child’s teacher. It is our hope that quality care and clear communication with parents will provide children with the best opportunities for success. We will continue to do our best to make time for all families who wish to speak with us.
3. Parent/Teacher Conferences:
Although our goal is that continued communication is consistent all year, there are two times in the year where we schedule to meet with all of the parents formally. Parent/Teacher conferences are scheduled on the preliminary calendar and the Preschool will be closed those days. At this conference, an assessment of the child’s developmental progress is done, as well as a review of developmental milestones through the school year. Goal setting may be done for the future months. Throughout the school year, we periodically complete a short review of each child that focuses on the developmental domainscognitive, social-emotional, and physical. This is a tool that we use throughout the year to be intentional about individualizing our curriculum to meet the needs of each and every child as well as to communicat with you as parents.
