The Preschool Committee is a body of representatives that provide encouragement, support and guidance to the Preschool Staff. The Preschool Committee facilitates communication between the Church, Preschool and Parent body by participation in enrollment, staff development, long-range planning, policy decisions and considerations, and financial areas of Preschool responsibility. The Preschool Committee provides budgetary forecasts and assists in the implementation of meeting budget requirements by assisting in setting tuition, salaries, scholarship, capital improvements and fundraising needs. The Preschool Committee commits to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ through participation and membership in the life of the Christian Church. Members of the Preschool Committee serve various lengths of their term depending on their individual role. The Preschool Committee will nominate and appoint potential individuals to serve in these roles.

The Preschool Committee consists of the following eleven individuals:

• Preschool Director—appointed by the Executive Staff and approved by the Personnel Committee and Session of Bel Air Presbyterian Church (tndefinite Term of Service).
• Executive Staff Member—appointed by the Executive Staff and approved by the Personnel Committee & Session of Bel Air Presbyterian Church (indefinite term of service).
• Elder—appointed by the Session of Bel Air Presbyterian Church and approved by Preschool Committee (term to coincide with Session term).
• Assistant Director (if applicable)—appointed by the Preschool Director and approved by the Executive Staff Member & Personnel Committee of Bel Air Presbyterian Church (indefinite term of service).
• Preschool Staff Representative or Assistant Director—appointed by the Preschool Staff and approved by the Preschool Director and the Executive Staff member (new nominations are received and reviewed annually).
• Budget Representative—appointed and approved by the Director and Executive Staff member (term to coincide with children’s enrollment).
• At-Large Officers—five parent representatives with children currently enrolled in the Preschool are appointed and approved by the Preschool Committee (three-year term of service with an option to continue for one additional year upon the invitation of the Preschool Committee).

The Committee has the following subcommittees:
• Admissions and Enrollment/Advertising
• Nominating and Parent/Public Relations
• Building and Grounds & Long-Range Planning
• Staff Support and Development
• Budget (Scholarship & Financial Assistance)
• Fundraising (one of the co-chairs of the annual fundraising shall be a member or an adjunct member of the Preschool Committee during the season of mundraising events, if requested)
