Outreach
Bel Air Presbyterian Church has an outstanding and very active Urban Outreach Department with a broad range of activities and groups which it supports. We have included not only short bios on all these organizations, but wherever possible we have also included a hotlink to their Web Site, should they have one on the Internet. Mission Statement
Many
have abandoned the city and the poor who live there. God has
not abandoned the poor, the sick, lonely, the different or
the imprisoned - none! He does not love us more because we
have somehow escaped such helplessness. God wants us in relationship
with those who suffer. Consider the words of Jesus, "do
it to even one (of the oppressed) and you have cared for me
and loved me" (Matthew 25:40). Jesus was born
in a stable and lived among the poor, demonstrating His love
for them by caring for them and healing them throughout His
earthly life, especially the three years of His public life.
"Follow me" said Jesus - walk the talk!
On
the basis of this deep conviction, we are called to serve
the suffering in our city. Bel Air Presbyterian Church is
honored to be in partnership with a unique variety of ministries
at work for the Lord in Los Angeles. We invite you and encourage
you to get involved in one or more of the outreach
opportunities supported by our church.
