Preschool

Dear Parents and Families,

On behalf of Bel Air Presbyterian Church and the Preschool Committee, let me welcome you and your child to Bel Air Presbyterian Church Preschool. We are thrilled you and your family will be part of the Preschool and through that association will also be connected to the church family. We are looking forward to a year filled with fun activities to share with your child as well as the entire family.

Our purpose is to provide a safe, loving, nurturing environment that preserves the experience of childhood through a carefully planned Christian program. We provide a quality, developmental curriculum that fosters the spiritual, social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth of each child. Our curriculum is designed to be emergent and meet the needs of the individual child, to be "hands-on" and allow children to learn through experience. Developmentally appropriate programs are democratic: based on age appropriate learning, challenging, motivating, but not stressful. We strive to develop critical thinking and problem solving skills and to promote a child’s self-esteem, which is an important condition for later learning. We value and have a commitment to excellence in Early Childhood Education from our Teaching Staff, Director, Pastors and the Preschool Committee. We seek to be on the leading edge of quality in our field.

Here, in an environment of acceptance and love, your child will grow in the nurture of God and encounter His grace and love. Children come to Preschool and learn about how God is personally involved in the world and in each of their lives. Our commitment as a Staff and Preschool Committee is to come alongside you as parents and to support your role as you face the early years of your child’s growth, development and education. This commitment extends to you whether you are a member of Bel Air Church or not. We seek to be available to you as parents in any way that we are able.

The Parents' Handbook is intended to acquaint you with our philosophy, goals, policies and procedures. Please do not hesitate to call me or any member of the staff at 818-990-6071 in order to help you grow with your child during this exciting time of life.

We are so blessed to have you be a part of the Preschool family and the church family as well. Please remember us in prayer, as we are holding you and yours in our prayers throughout the school year.

Warmly,

Andrea Petsche
Preschool Director
