Children's Discipleship Mission
core, Bel Air's Children's Discipleship (CD) Department, is a Discipleship Community dedicated to the development of children as life-long followers of Jesus Christ and to provision of resources that will equip, nurture and partner with the family and the church community as we invest in their spiritual discipleship.
We believe that children can and must take part in the church's mission to make Los Angeles the greatest city for Christ. In core, children learn at an early age that they are loved by God and the Christians around them and that they are a necessary part of the church today – not just the church of tomorrow. Throughout their time in core, we want to introduce six Faith Skills and develop within each child the ability to: 1) Navigate the Bible; 2) Personalize scripture; 3) Dialog with God; 4) Engage in worship; 5) Share their faith; and 6) Initiate ministry. Creative, age-appropriate opportunities provided through our classes and programming help our children utilize these Faith Skills to understand and express the Four Commitments we hold at BAPC.
"As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him and established in faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving." Colossians 2:6–7
