Deacons
A 'deacon' is, by definition, most appropriately regarded as a servant to the Body of Christ. The deacons of Bel Air Presbyterian Church attempt to fulfill that privilege through a variety of ways and means. One of the most important ways is by meeting the emergency financial needs of our members, regular attenders and even the 'strangers in our midst.' In so doing the deacons who serve on the finance committee strive to be the best possible stewards of the money which has been entrusted to us by you. The deacons make home and hospital visits to those among us who are ill or confined. The deacons have established a prayer cordon which brings before God the needs of any and all who request intervention. Click here to learn more or contact Sandra Loden Hunt. |
Companions Companions is a team of volunteers who have a heart for those separated from our community by age or disability. If you would like to serve Christ by providing visits and friendship for someone of our extended church family, Companions is a great place for you to serve. Any individual can be a companion, or two people can team together to be companions to someone separated from the Bel Air community. This is a wonderful way for a parent/child, two college friends, or a couple to serve together. A Companins volunteer will commit to meet weekly with their companion and provide friendship. Companions volunteers are asked to make a 6-month commitment. For more information contact Laura Rasmussen.
Prayer Teams Bel Air has prayer teams at every worship service available to pray with those touched, convicted, or moved during worship. Perhaps you want to make a commitment to the Lord and receive Him as your Savior. Come and pray with us. Perhaps there is someone in your life with whom you need to be reconciled. Come and pray with us. Perhaps you or someone you love is in need of healing or you just need prayer for the journey. Join us following each service. These confidential men and women will intercede on your behalf as you have need.
If you are gifted in praying for others, we would love to have you join us on these prayer teams at 9 & 11 a.m., and 6 p.m. worship. Please contact Angie Lamberton.

Stephen Ministers The Stephen Series is a complete system for training and organizing lay people to provide one-to-one Christian care to hurting people in and around your congregation. The Stephen Series provides congregations with the structure, training, and resources to set up and administer a complete system for lay caring ministry (called Stephen Ministry) in the congregation. In Stephen Ministry congregations, lay caregivers (called Stephen Ministers) provide one-to-one Christian care to the bereaved, hospitalized, terminally ill, separated, divorced, unemployed, relocated, and others facing a crisis or life challenge. Stephen Ministry helps pastors and congregations provide quality caring ministry for as long as people need it.
Bel Air has many men and women currently providing care as Stephens Ministers. If you are in need of receiving care through this ministry, please contact our Caring Ministries Department at Bel Air. If you would like to give care and receive training as a Stephens Minister, please contact Sarah Perkins. For more information on this ministry, please visit this site.
