The four cornerstones of our ministry at Bel Air are worship, inreach, outreach, and small groups. At Bel Air, we call the small groups ministry ‘Many Rooms’. Jesus said, “in My Father’s house are many rooms.” You might consider those rooms to be the place where Jesus uniquely communes with each of us; the place where we know Him and are known by Him.

That intimate communion is one of the ways God transforms us as we hear Him and wrestle through our relationship with Him. As a church body, God has established community to further affect our growth as disciples. He puts us in intimate, caring relationships to interact with His Word and world.

This currently happens at Bel Air through Discipleship Communities such as The Foundry, Middle and High School Discipleship, Mothers and Others, Young Marrieds, Beacon, the choir.... But it is particularly through the small groups that form within these communities and in our neighborhoods that lives are truly changed.

Get involved! We are asking you to consider how you might take part: you may lead a group (contact the office for training opportunities) or join a group. We also have ongoing opportunities for people to open their homes as a host for leaders who don’t have a place to hold their group, or to be a Connector and help individuals find the right small group. This season, form or find a Many Rooms small group; invite your friends (and someone really obnoxious too).

Let’s slow down our busyness and use this time to reach into each others lives and make room for God.

Spring 2008 Study Series (April–Summer)

Joshua: The power of God's promises
The Old Testament book of Joshua reads like an exciting novel—from the miraculous crossing of the Jordan to the crash of the walls of Jericho and the sun stopping in the sky. Through all the twists and turns, you'll witness God's power and faithfulness. Digging into the story of Joshua will encourage you to persevere in your own daily battles and arm you with the most powerful weapons you'll ever need--God's promises ($6, available in the Café and the Small Groups table in the Welcome Center).

The Christian in a Postmodern World
What lies beyond the visible world? How do we get beyond peoples’ facades? Is God multi-cultural? Are all religions and beliefs equally valid? Should we respect authorities, even bad ones? Just because it’s true for you, doesn’t mean it’s true for me, does it? Where are our world and our lives headed?

Our "postmodern" society explores and questions all aspects of life and thought, even those we once took for granted. But, these are not new questions. This study explores key post-modern questions in light of historic Christianity and what the Bible says. Grapple with your questions in a supportive small-group environment. Deepen your awareness of the principles of being a Christ-follower ($8, available in the Café and the Small Groups table in the Welcome Center).
