What are Small Groups?
Small Groups are an important part of Bel Air Presbyterian Church. We sense God’s call to be a church of Small Groups year round. We are beginning to look at everything we do in a new way. Across the board we are asking: (1) How does this connect people to Small Group community? (2) How does this help our Small Groups become more transformational? And (3) how does this draw our Small Groups further into the church’s worship, service, and mission?
A Small Group is about six to twelve people who gather at least every other week for Five Purposes: • Study the Word: Hearing God’s Word together • Worship the Lord: Responding to God in prayer and praise • Care for Each Other: Offering service, support and accountability • Serve their Neighbors: Embodying God’s heart for L.A. and the world • Relate as Friends: Building relationships outside the regular time
To make this happen we need your help. We need you to find a group or form a group and help others do the same. We need group Hosts and Coaches.
You may nearly be in a group already. Do you sing in the choir or serve on a committee? We don’t want you to add something to an over-busy life but to reshape what you are currently doing together to build Small Group community. You could add a few minutes to discuss a biblical passage, to pray for each other specifically, to plan an outing together…
It’s never too late to join a Small Group. We have an open chair waiting for you…
