Administrative Assistant for Beacon Ministries

Responsible for providing administrative support to the Pastor of Entertainment who oversees Beacon and Prayer Team ministries. Work may include research, analytical skills, create and revise a wide range of documents. Coordinate activities with various departments and outside Prayer ministries in the city. Work may be of confidential nature. Assignments cover a wide range of areas and may require specific skills.

Responsibilities:
Executes the day-to-day administration needs and establishes priorities for Beacon. Meeting preparation (including arranging for facilities/equipment, preparing agendas, communicating/following up with attendees). Handles broad range of inquiries, issues and confidential materials and has significant interaction with all levels of staff, volunteers, and guest speakers. Acts independently to determine appropriate methods and procedures. Track department budget expenses including processing invoices and expense reports. Manage special projects as designated, specifically, dealing with administration and coordination issues. Assists in recruiting, supporting and tracking volunteer involvement. Utilizes new media to raise awareness of Beacon.

Required Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to work well with volunteers and has strong customer service skills. Knowledge in the entertainment industry. Understanding and interest in social media.

First Impressions/Volunteer Coordinator

Bel Air Presbyterian Church is seeking a part-time First Impressions/Volunteer Coordinator. This position is responsible for coordinating First Impressions teams and Ushers for Sunday services and conducting weekly follow up to first time guests. Candidates must have a heart for ministry and a passion for getting people connected in the body of Christ.

Accounts Payable Clerk

Bel Air Presbyterian Church is seeking a full-time Accounts Payable Clerk. This position is responsible for all A/P functions, as well as providing support for other areas of the Finance Department. Candidates should have a minimum of two years bookkeeping experience, or one year accounts payable experience. Experience tracking multiple company credit cards is a plus.

Administrative Assistant for Outreach—Mission Trips & Events

Assists and supports the Mission/Outreach Department Team (Pastor of Outreach, Associate Director of Outreach, others as directed by Pastor of Outreach) to develop and implement missions and outreach efforts primarily in the local capacity with global influence. Implements the vision of the Pastor of Outreach by coordinating the mission trip program, and organizing all logistics for department's local and global partnerships. This is a part-time 30/hour per week role. Benefits do not apply to this position.

Preschool Teaching Positions

Bel Air Presbyterian Preschool, a Christian program with developmental emergent-curriculum philosophy and accredited through NAEYC, is seeking candidates for long-term substitute Preschool teaching positions. This position begins in January 2013 for a minimum of 12 weeks.

Candidates for Preschool teaching positions must meet the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Art or Science degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, Elementary Education or closely related field.
  • Early Childhood teacher permit or credential issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
  • A minimum of 24 ECE units as a part of degree or certificate program.
The ideal candidate is a motivated teacher who thrives in a team setting and has a commitment to life-long learning. He or she also has a basic knowledge of the Internet, email, and is comfortable with Microsoft Word.

Early Childhood Caregivers

Bel Air Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) is currently seeking part-time (5–6 hrs. per week [Wednesday and Sunday mornings, plus special events]) nursery caregivers for our Early Childhood Discipleship program. These are ministry positions, and all applicants must be strong Christians currently attending and involved in their home churches. Knowledge of and experience in early childhood development (birth–5 years) a plus.
